911 HELP!! Truck won't start!

so I have an early build 04 6.0, and I'm stuck in the Vons parking lot. But my truck isn't turning over, all the pre start checks seem good, there's no codes or lights being thrown. But when I turn the key to the start position there's nothing. I've checked a few fuses and all are good. Please help! My groceries are gonna go bad!

Ok, so I just tried starting it again, and guess what? It fired right up! It sat for about 45 mins to an hour without starting. Any clues as to what may ba causing this issue?

So the engine would crank but would not start or it wouldnt crank either? if it wouldnt crank over, I would check the starter and connections on the starter for corrosion. starters are fairly common failures on 6.0.

Yeah, it was a no crank issue. I checked the starter for any corrision and theres none. All the cabling is tight as well. Is there anything that I can check to narrow it down to the stater maybe?

Have a friend with you and when it will not crank, have your buddy hold the key in the start position, tthen you go under with a test light or 12 volt multimeter and see if you have 12 volts on the small solenoid wire at the starter. if you have 12 volts there and it still wont crank, then your starter is junk.

Sweet. Thanks! Its just hard to judge when it will happen, its very random and has only happened three times so far. But hopefully nexy time Ill have a buddy with me.

i have that same problem!!! it will fire up in the morning just fine but then i will drive somewhere let it sit for 10 minutes and try to fire it up and it wont start, just crank. then i will wait about an hour and it will start! i cant figure it out!!
