phantom limp mode?

I have an 06 250 with 105k, completely stock aside from an edge with attitude which is used only to monitor egt's.

While driving on the highway yesterday at 70mph, the 'limp home' light came on. I pulled over, shut the truck off, checked fluids, then started it...the light went out. About 10 miles down the highway, it came back on.

Once home, I checked for codes; nothing thrown, nothing pending. I put around 30 miles of off highway driving on it and the light never came on. Later that day, when back on the highway, the light came on again. I pulled over and checked codes with the truck running...nothing.

When the light comes on, the truck isn't actually going into limp mode. I have full power and do not appear to be speed limited.

I am clueless. Any ideas?

I just bought a 05 f250 and on my why home from Ga. The same thing was happening the light would come on but it still ran great. I have 74K on mine.
