6.0 Valve Seats and Unbalanced Connecting Rods

Yesterday I was talking to two different independent diesel mechanics regarding the 6.0, both said that the 6.0 has a problem with cracked valve seats and one mechanic said the 6.0 has unbalanced connecting rods which sometimes results in a rod going through the block.

Has anyone heard of these being recurring problems?

The valve seats yes. Generally when the egr cooler goes water gets into the cylinders and thats when the seats crack. The rods I really haven't heard about that problem. Whenever you start modifying a truck you always have to possibility of windowing your block
