oil pressure problems
Took my truck into the shop for bellowing black smoke and no power, found torn intercooler boot, replaced that and solved the no power and black smoke. Then the shop tells me that there is like 7psi or lower oil pressure at idle, then while driving, it seems to be normal. They have had my truck for over 2 weeks now and really can't find the problem. I had never noticed the low oil pressure befor taken to the shop. Really puzzled on what the cause could be. They have replaced several items and still can't come up with the problem. Anyone know what it possible could be?
The truck has 4" turbo back exhaust, brute force air intake and liberator egr delete. |

they have been to the low pressure oil pump and changed it, then they went into the hpop and i think changed it. They did find that the screen was torn, but they said that the component at that looked fine and not damaged. They said that the screen had torn away from the housing, but none of the housing was damaged. I am not real sure about all of the components or their names

the hpop has a large bearing like ball that holds the pressure and i can almost promise u that then bearing like object has came out or worn out it is very common on these motors!!
