First issues at 170K miles.

Just past 170K miles on my 6.0L. And so far it has never left me stranded. But I'm starting to have some issues with injectors and the ficm. Rough start with heavy missing black smoke till it warms up. And even once it warms up driving down the road every once in a while when I come to a stop sign. And the rpms drop to idle it starts to miss and buck. Raise the rpms and it clears out and runs like a champ.

So I figure its time to tackle a few things. I'm replacing all injectors, glow plugs, pull and test the ficm (repair/replace), ICP valve (had it in my glove box since I bought the truck), new belt, coolant flush.

Is there any thing else I should replace during this "tune up"?
(cam sensor, etcetera?)

New belt??? Surely it isn't the factory belt is it??? haha

That's awesome that you got 170K before having problems.

Gives the rest of us some hope!

To be honest I have no idea. It could be the factory belt?
But after seeing how much a pain in the rear it's going to be to change it. I may just wait?
