6.0 cat delete

I was looking at the expandit cat delete that they sell on puredieselpower and was wondering if they can be swaped back out later on for warranty work. also will it throw any lights for not having a cat.

Im a newbie and dont really know much about diesels. I have a 2003 6.0 and I just took it to the dealer because at redlights and at Idle the rpm would jump. also at start up it blows white smoke. they told me it was a pcm update. So I picked my truck up and proceded to drive home up an incline at half throttle and the turbo kept spooling up n shutting off n the wastegate kept dumping. I took it back and they told me they had to replace the egr cause it was bad. its a little better now but it still blows a good bit of white smoke on start up.
If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

you wont get any lights without the cat and muffler.as far as warranty goes when i still had my warranty i could take it in straight piped. they always gave me hell sayin that the truck needs them for backpressure and other stuff. but they never voided my warranty. As far as the white smoke, not to sure. im sure a mechanic will chime in soon.

Maybe the white smoke is caused by coolant in the exhuast, maybe the EGR cooler?

Yeah that would be my guess.if its only on start up. check your oil to see if you have coolant in the oil, make sure its not the head gasket about to go. but more than likely its the egr cooler.if its under warranty keep taking in back to them, make them keep it over night and let them start it up when its cold.

Mine does the same thing. I think it is because the cat would usually burn the emission and now is just blowing it out. It also will take the exhaust a little while longer to get hot so it will smoke more than normal. I think most of it is condensation. Did you ever figure out anything about it?

6.0's dont have a wastegate. its going to smoke white for a while after an egr cooler replacement because there is more than likely still water in the egr system and exhaust.

I took it as they just replace the egr valve. Guess he wasn't to clear on what they did or did not do. Diddo on having NO wastegate, they call it a egr on the 6.0. EGR SUCKS!
