Hey all, pretty new powerstroke owner here.
I have a 2006 F350 Lariat, has EGR delete and tuning and a bunch of other stuff. It's throwing P0046 error code.
It has an aftermarket turbo kit -> I have a pdf for this kit and have attatched it, as you can see the solenoid simply sits in a holder OUTSIDE of the housing? How does this turbo function?
I believe the turbo model is Schwitzer 300G071
As far as I understand the VGT Solenoid simply sits in a holder and outputs back to the PCM? As far as I understood the solenoid controls the vanes and therefore the boost/pressure?
I'm not sure how this setup works, and if this error code is to be expected as the solenoid simply sits in a holder? I assumed it sits in there to bypass the new turbo and just to tell the PCM that everything is ok?
I hear no turbo at idle and assume I have boost issues, I have not driven it much since purchasing, and have gotten around to trying to deal with this now.
Sorry for all the noob questions. Thanks.
