took truck to dealer , they said an egr valve failure came up on the report. they replaced the egr valve and checked for any other codes, none came up and it ran fine according to dealer. one of my employees picked up the truck and brought it back to the office, i drove it home about 15 miles and it surged and bucked again , the very same problem it went in with. so to recap, new icp sensor, new egr valve , truck still bucks and surges on freeway under light throttle and going up slight incline, please help, need to drive 500 miles this weekend!!!

Did you put a new icp sensor connector when you put the icp sensor? I always replace the connector when I replace the ICP. Id take it back to dealer and have them diag it for you again. Make sure you give them all the information so they can duplicate the concern and be able to tell you what it is.

ok here is an update , first this is an 06 so wags do i need to replace connector ? second, took it back to the dealer on my way to lake powell a 1,000 mile round trip. they found an o-ring broken on the fuel filter and replaced said this was the problem!!,, great im on my way and sure enough it does it again!!!, call the dealer told them same problem no engine light now what, the service writer tells me i might have carbon bulit up , and the surging is due to carbon breaking off and jamming the egr valve ? is this possible ? if not what next, help my hair is turning even more gray!!!!!

just a guess on my part , the truck has thrown no codes other than an egr valve failure code after i cleaned the egr valve, which was then replaced.

Is there any new codes in it now? Yes you could have carbon build up in the intake and egr cooler and it could be breaking up and sticking in the egr valve, I have seen this many times before. Have you taken it back to the dealer yet?

umm usually if carbon gets stuck in the valve is stays in there and the truck will have no power at all. YOu wouldn't be able to just make it do it and then not make it do it.. It could just be that the new egr valve was bad. Keep us posted at what the dealer says it is please.
