04 f-250 6.0L missing?
my truck is a 2004 F-250 XLT FX4 C/C. every since i took the bullydog triple dog off of it when it was cold it idled and drove bad, missing and sputtering until it warmed up then would clear out, also the turbo wouldn't start spinning till i got going down the road. so a couple of months ago i had a lexi go across the front of me at 50. so they went through it found the downtube got a crack from the wreck. so they put a new down tube on it. a couple days later i was driving and the truck started trying to die at a light, so i gave it a little gas and the thing red lined so i turned it off, started back up and idled fine but as soon as i gave gas it red lined again but this time blew a cloud of white smoke and died. towed to a mechanic, he couldn't figure out anything with the white smoke but said turbo was bad, 3 injectors, and cam sensor. after they put those on and re flashed computer was ok for awhile but now since it started getting cold it went back to the way it was but now it wont clear out when warmed up and shifts really hard almost stalling the truck and ethier the tranny slips in O/D or its missing, cant tell. any help would be very helpful seeing as how theres no warranty. oh and it has 105,000 miles on it. thanks

No one have any ideas what it could be? aftering reading some other stuff, could it be the variable vain? now that it is around 70 degrees it will run fine for awhile, then after sitting at a red light for a min. when i take off it is sputtering, and i forgot to mention it usually does it in mid RPM right around the time the turbo should start pulling and stops if i floor it.

very interesting. I hope M chan chimes in here. In the meantime, to be on the safe side, you can take apart your turbo and clean it... Diesel Technician Society So if its a vane or two, this should clear that problem up. And give you a piece of mind that your turbo is in perfect working condition. |

well the turbo is less then 2 months old, but i was reading somewhere that there is a sensor on the turbo that adjust the vane, thats just what i read this is my first diesel so im learning as i go. thanks for the reply though. and does anyone know how to test the ficm or ICP? because i dont have any trouble codes, and when my alternator went out a couple of weeks ago my battery light never came on, or when i had all the problems from the wreck the check engine light never came on but the mechanic said there was a few trouble codes. could it be a computer?
