Hello PS people, Im looking for a little help. I had a turbo go and now Im in the process of installing every bulletproofing part I can less the gaskets and studs because its not needed yet. I take my intake off and I find this massive pitting on the outside of the intake. Its on the machined flat spots towards the front. The pit shown is right next to the oil cooler base but nothing was touching it. There were small white flakes laying down on the block like it was corroding away from the outside. Wondering if anyone has ever seen this before? Thanks!!
wear safety glasses and take a wire brush to it and see how far it gets. if it stops easily enough, spay high temp paint on it if you like and call it good
if the wire brush eats through you may have an issue though. but I feel its just casting job.
I kinda figured the same thing, There are 2 spots, both are on flat spots in the casting. I figured I would clean them up and maybe fill with an epoxy like cat epoxy or jb weld for aluminum. The one shown feels pretty thin. Thanks for the replies!!
