'03 6.0 - Where is the Glow Plug Relay and....?
I tried posting this in the 911 area but nothing so far. Hopefully this gets the question answered.
The shop says I need to replace the glow plug relay. Where is it located? And what is involved in replacing it? I need to know A.S.A.P. so I know whether to pay the guy or do it myself. Thanks, DT |

Nevermind! Got the answer.... Passenger side valve cover. Green connector going into a black connector.

Well I sorta got screwed by the shop. They replaced it without giving me the option to do it myself. I shopped around and about $120-$130 was the cheapest I saw. Replacing it should be really easy and I was going to just pop one in but like I said the dealer screwed me and I would have had to pay the same amount with or without the install so I said just leave it in.
Stay away from Diesels Only in Denver, CO. They were better than Diesel Performance and Repair in Parker, CO though. Atleast they actually diagnosed the problem. |

What was the original problem? The 6.0 GPCM's very rarely fail.

By the way I looked under the hood and replacing the module should be super easy. It is sitting on top of the passenger side valve cover. There's a couple of wire harnesses and a couple screws.

That was it. The truck would crank for over a full minute with white smoke pouring out. The shop diagnosed it as the glow plug control module, replaced it, and now she starts.
