Heads Studs???

My truck is leaking coolant out of the degas bottle, does it mean my head studs are stretched? It only does it when I get into it hard. What else could it be I've done some research on the form and that is what it sounds like to me. No water in the oil or anything like that just some fluid out of the top????? Do I need a head stud kit???? It just started doing this.

yeah mine does it to, alittle on hard pushes, thier is a thread under perfomance parts maybe you should bump this to their and see what they say. I noticed i had to much coolant in my res and dropped it down alittle under the full line and havent had a problem. I remember someone sayin the bottles where marked wrong from the manufacutor and to drop them just under the line.

Well it's been doing this for about a week, and I read about that and I don't think that is the problem b/c it was already below the second line. Is this something I should be worried about???

Buy a combustion gas leak test kit and perform the test to see if you are getting combustion gases into the cooling system and overpressurizing it, also take the cap to a parts store and have it pressure tested 16psi, or spend the $5 for a new one. My 99 had similar problem, was blown head gasket on drivers side, replaced head gasket, resurfaced head (.040 warpage) and replaced the head bolts. solved the problem, but took 2 days to fix. good luck, if you have any questions, this is the place to ask.

Yea I plan on putting a head stud kit but I don't want to hurt anything by driving it. I've just been takin it easy on it.

Yes i'm just letting you know that it definatly is head gaskets. And no you will not hurt the truck by driving it but yes it will get worse and yes if you let it go to long it it will hurt the truck.I already had mine done.

well i am having mine done in bellflower ca, and to pull the cab and send the heads to colorado to ats to mill and fire and ring them and install the turbo is cost in me about 5600.00 dollars. arp head studs i have seen for around 530.00 dollars and ats charges 1800.00 for mill and fire and ring kit with gasket. and then i am guessing labor is around 3900.00 dollars to pull the cab. Oh and it takes about a month.
