Front end noise on 03 F-350 4x4, HELP PLEASE

Hi guys,
I was driving home last weekend and a strange noise appeared. i stopped and took a quick check and nothing seemed to be out of place. i continued and the noise appeared again, sometimes when i pass a bump, sometime driving straight. It sounds like something gets out of its center and then it stops.
Its not bearing because its not constant.
Its not engine because i shift to neutral and noise continues
Its not breaks because i started stopping and the noise was still there
Every part has the oil levels as recomended (tranny, transmission, axles, engine)
I took a look under the complete truck, there is no sign of something out of place, parts hitting or broken.

Any advice? ideas?

Thanks guys
arriero

It seems it's the locking hub. it's an auto/lock hub. Any idea on how to take it apart?

thanks

ok, i serviced the locking hubs, but the noise continues.....
it sounds like when the ABS starts working, but the speed remains the same, so its not braking.
I hope i wont get the front end locked in the highway.....
has any of you have had the same problem? A friend told me it may be the tranny is not disconecting....

thanks
arriero

i took out the locking hubs. i was unable to drive a block and the noise and shake was worst, so i put'em back in. i realized when i took out the hubs, they were "activated" or locked (in the auto position).
So.... are the hubs the problem or the bearings? the end of the outer axleshaft has some axial movement. is that normal?

thanks

when you pull them off there is nothing to lock in the axle shaft and the tires should be freely spinning on the Wheel bearings. (the Axle shafts should not be spinning.) I am not a expert but it sounds like wheel bearings.
