Kurt sorry to hear about your problems. Best thing to do is call the number in my sig and talk to DJ directly as I have been out plowing snow and will probably be back out a bunch this weekend. Yes it has been extremely cold here but haven't had any issues. If DJ gives you the go ahead try the tune out again. Dumb question but do you put additive in your fuel to help with gelling? Also by chance did you shut the truck down and then restart to see if it presisted?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris! Yes, I have been using powerservice anti gelling formula when its this cold out. The rest of the year I use diesel kleen 90% of the time. No I didn't shut it down and restart to see if the problem continued, I just returned it to stock and continued on home. I'll try to give DJ a call here shortly. Got a few things to accomplish here first today. I'll let you know if he's got any ideas. Thanks man.

Hi Kurt,

The other night when I posted I had read your post to DJ and that was his response. I'm sure it's best if you talk. PM me a telephone number when you get a chance and he'll call you. Else, call us at 352-528-0688.

Thanks,
Vivian

Sorry it took so long to get back to this... Like I said, when I had resolution of the issue I'd post back so here goes... DJ's was very quick to come to my rescue. I've been pretty busy here lately what with work, planning a wedding, honeymoon, etc. Its been crazy! But DJ took the time to call me and look in to my tunes. Wound up sending me a new street tune with cold fix to try out. The weather's been getting warmer here, with daytime highs in the 40's, actually been pretty pleasant compared to the last month. Tried the new file and she runs just fine. I was curious though, when I first started the truck up it was as quiet as I've ever heard it run. Normally when I start it cold its a little "rougher" sounding and when I put it in gear its even noisier. After loading the new file I almost thought it sounded like my old gasser! Very quiet, until you start accelerating. Then it sounds "normal"... Just something I noticed. Anyways, seems like the issue is fixed. Another suggestion I had from DJ's was to reload the file from my computer on to the Xcal2 and try that as well. I'm pretty happy with the new file I received so I haven't put the original one back in yet. Its been running good. I think the only way to find out for sure will be the next time temps are sub zero around here. And hopefully that won't be anytime soon... I'm ready for some sun and fun! Just wanted to get back here and say thanks to the folks at DJ's for their fast action on my problem. Can't complain about customer service there!

It's funny this comes up. I do not have a tuner, but I have the ts chip. I drove my truck after it not being driven for about 2 weeks in the bitter cold. I plugged it up and it started fine, I even let it sit there and warm up. I was only driving across town, but it felt like my chip was not having any effect on my truck. When I came to a stop light I tried the high-idle, it did nothing. Continued on to where I was going. Stayed there for a couple of hours and when i got back in started it back up everything was back to normal. Have not had any trouble since. I didn't know what the deal was.

Kurt, trust me... I did this all 5 years ago. Get out your wallet and take out all of your credit cards and then go get your check book and just start signing because everyone has there hand out and she WILL get what SHE wants.

Congrats and good luck.

Chris

Yeah, I'm learning this... Everybody tells me to just go with what she wants and she'll be happy. So I guess I will, just smile and nod. My idea was to fly to Hawaii or the carribean and do it on the beach. Simple but effective. Little did I know...
