EDGE Insight

Ok, so i'm looking at getting this for my gauges. My question is, i dont really care about boost since our truck has a boost gauge, and i'm gonna hook up an EGT probe to monitor those. For the trans temp though, i've noticed that some people either cannot get the edge to read it or i've heard the stock sensor is off.
Is there anyway to hook up a separate sender for the trans temp to monitor the temps more accurately? I don't want to get physical gauges i don't think, as i wanna keep my handle and i don't want them above the mirror. so I'm not sure what to do.

any input??

its somewhat accurate... plus their wouldn't be another way to put a trans temp sender to it... only the pyro....

i would just get it and mount it under the handle on the pillar with their pod and paint it to match your interior.... let me know if you have any other questions

on my SCT it wont read trans temp while data logging, i know i've heard of some people who have had a problem reading trans temp on the edge insight. is this fixable? or if i got one and i couldn't get my trans temp would i just be out of luck?

my biggest concern is i want to make sure that while looking at temps i can tell whether my trans is too hot or not. i dont think i'll ever have to worry about it, but i want to know that if it says 220* i know its too hot and i need to let her cool down. or if it says 180* i know i'm still safe,,, for now...
i dont want it to say 180* and its really 220+ and i burn down the tranny.

IMO nothing is as close to accurate as regular gauges.... i would just put an overhead pod with regular gauges.... but the insight is second to that...

Heres a pic of mine, my trans temp did work, then I updated the unit and it quit, ive gotta call edge to get the old flash for it back so it will work again, its fixable (I emailed them and they told me to call them and theyd get the new flash to me over the phone), ive just gotta find the time to do it now....I really like the unit it has tons of capabilities that analog gauges dont have....it seems to read fairly accurate, and the big thing is that it displays exactly what the truck senses, if its off that far, then theres something majorly wrong.....a few degrees is no biggie, and if its off 20 degrees then the truck has some big operating problems.....just my .02
Good luck!!!
