Rear Window change

Has anyone looked into changing out the rear solid window of their truck and replacing it with the remote power slide option? I was wondering if that was some thing that would be as easy as installing the new rear window, motor assembly, and switch. What do you all think

I would think that replacing the window would be like usual if the motor and hardware aren't in the way

theres a different panel you need behind the seat. My friend bought the same truck as me and was quoted a little over 1k from the dealership.

In an ext cab i am not sure of how to access behind the rear seat, however its the fabric/plastic liner that hides the metal of the cab. The only reason to change it out is because the stock one will not fit with the motor assembly, this is if you choose to use one...

I would not go to a dealership to get this done. Find a way to get the motor installed by someone else, or yourself. My motor went out on the sliding window... Ford wanted 6 hours to replace it. I said screw that, took it somewhere else, they brought in a window guy, and they did it all in an hour and a half.

I'm just curious, with a manual sliding window can you just add the motor and the cable or whatever it is that opens the window, w/o having to get the whole new window?

The motor on my window has a curved bracket with 2 mounting holes in the top. It was curved perfectly to fit on the fabric liner. I just shot 2 screws through the holes into the liner. My seat sets against the motor but it's not crushing it or anything

I don't think you could add the cable to a non power window. I've seen power sliding rear windows with a hydraulic ram that opens the window, I would think that would be pretty easy to do
