No courtesy lights in doors

Hey guys, just put new speakers in the truck and while I had the door panels off I noticed where the red covers are in the doors for the courtesy lights there no bulbs or sockets for bulbs. Its a 2006 crew cab fx4 lariat. I was wanting to put clear lenses with led's in the doors. Is the wiring inside the door panel or do I need to buy the harness? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Yup I think they stopped putting the actual light in somewhere around 04/05 IIRC. My Dad's 01 has lights, my 07 has a reflector. If there is no wiring you could tie into the dome light circuit.

Ya that and the hood insulation, I don't even think I have a glove box light either.

Thanks for the responses guys..... guess trying to keep the budget and affordability down to a mere 60K, couldn't spare a few extra bulbs! Guess if I get bored enough i'll tie into the dome lights or put them on an aux switch. Thanks again.

I think the dome light would be the best option, then they would be on when you open the door, which really is when you want them on. I thought about doing the same thing, I think the older truck lenses will fit in the reflector spot, and they had a partial clear lens. Will investigate next time I'm at the bone yard.
