Removing armrest mount without cutting

Has anyone ever managed to remove the armrest mount from the seat without having the cut off the shaft? I have a center seat coming I got through a barter deal to replace my console, but I need to get the arm rests out of the way. I'd rather not cut anything if I can avoid it in case I ever want to put the console back. The only person I've ever seen do this cut the shafts off that the arm rests bolt to.

The cover comes off the cushion and there's a large torx head bolt that you can just unscrew. I took mine off to put in an '08 console.

Does it leave anything protruding out? I just picked up the right bit, so I haven't had a chance to take it apart yet.

No, nothing is left protruding out. The only problem is the there's gonna be a hole in each seat where they mounted.

Cool, thanks. That will save me tons of time since I don't need to take apart the seat.

I might make something to cover the hole. I was thinking of using 2 pieces of thin sheet metal or plastic cut in a 1.5" circle and then crimping a snap on each piece and covering the outside piece with vinyl or leather.

How did this work out for you? I got my jump seat off ebay about a month or so ago and just getting around to installing because my 4th child was born. I removed the armrest but there still is a pin sticking out that supports the armrest. Looks to be part of a bracket that also stick out of the side of the seat. From what others are saying they has to remove the seat cover and cushion and cut the bracket off the frame. I hate to do this because one day I would like to take the jump seat out and go back to the console.
