Center console sub box??

So has anybody out there made a custom center console to hold some subs?? Right now I have to 10" Memphis subs behind the rear seat of my CC, but I am thinking about taking out the center section (40-20-40) and building a sub box to hold both subs and both amps... I know that I still want to have some kind of storage on top of it since it is pretty much the ONLY storage area in the truck besides glove box... Anyhow has anybody done this? Tried this? Seen this??? I am thinking it could be a fun winter project, along with possibly using that dupri color paint to paint the center inserts of my cloth seats as soon as somebody mans up and tries that first Thanks guys...

I understand though! I get ancy sometimes, especially with the tech questions.

i saw one at sema yesterday in a rbp powerstroke. it had the sub pointing toward the rear seats. they had totally replaced the center console. i forgot my camera but i was there with raul from stealth automotive so he may have a few pics of it. if not im sure someone else that was there will have it. it was a pretty sick wagon.

I just had a custom box built for an alpine 10" type-r. Sounds good, but no storage I need to figure out some bolt on cup holders

Just keep in mind...the farther the sub is from you (inside a vehicle) the louder it will get and the better it will sound. Putting subs in a console "down firing" can sound decent but should only be a last resort when there is no other option.

Behind the rear seat in a Super Duty is by far the best place for a sub.

I got one. JL Audio Stealthbox, they make a version for powerstroke interiors. It takes the place of the guts of the console, and you just put the console shell over it. Can't really tell it's there, other than it raises the console about an inch.

Has a single 10" sub that faces downward, but it's a high priced JL sub, and put into a box that was designed and tuned for that interior. Sound, at least to me, is quite good. You'll get enough out of it to drown out that rap blaring cretin next to you in traffic. Green Grass and High Tides works very well for that...

Only other downside of this setup is, it's kinda pricey. Retails for $600, most of it is that expensive sub they put in. Got mine slightly used on ebay for $350. JL also makes a version that goes under the center seat for a 40/20/40 bench front seat. That person sitting on the center is going to really feel the music...
