Fresh Air Intake

Anyone know how to disable the fresh air intake on the a/c system? In my case the only way the a/c stays in recirculate is on "max" ac. I want to be able to run the system at other options such as heater and defrost and not have to smell the neighbors exhaust. Mt chevy had a recirc button on the dash.

You could get at the hose that has that vacuum can on it. I think it's the white hose if memory is correct. You could put an air toggle switch in the dash or someplace else and use it to interrupt the line from the factory control. I assume you have a manual temp system?

Even with the manual controls, the pcm controls the fresh air intake.

I'm not sure about that.. I'm going to have to look at my service manual. With the manual controls that door only closes for max a/c and off positions I believe. With the auto controls, it has functions it's set for, but I thought it was somewhat "overrideable"...

You may be right, but I was pretty sure even with manual controls the pcm still has control over the blend doors. Definetely correct me if I'm wrong. I don't want to steer somebody wrong.

Another reason to spend the extra dough for climate control. That system has a button to control the fresh air.
