08 6-disc radio install?

Does anyone know if a 2008 6-disc cd player will fit in my 03 that has a single disc? I know ford was good about making part swaps easy and many vehicle from many years will interchange, but has anyone done it?

I can get it for like $30 so I may just get it and see what happens.. but thought some insight would be helpful.

I installed a 6 disc MP3 from a Focus into my '05:

Still have the stock 6 disc (not MP3) from my 2005 available if you're interested.

05-07 has a larger dash area for the newer radios, that is why your focus radio fit with no problem.

04 and below has a smaller opening, and still require the old U-shaped tool to remove the radio.

and if i'm not mistaken they also changed connectors too one of those years.
