What is it? or What's it for?

'05 F350 Lariat. o.k. I've owned this truck for more than 4 years now. Yesterday I was cleaning and spraying some protectant on the dash and I realized that I had never figured out what that little dash part was. It's that one that looks like a hook that you hang something on. RH side of center portion. Under the pull out cup holder and beside the ash tray. Anyone know what the heck this thing is or what it's for? Probably gonna feel real dumb when I find out!

I think it's sole purpose is to make people ask questions, kinda like that crazy uncle that does strange things just to see if people will ask questions (that's my experience anyway haha). Thats my best guess lol

I hang a key ring on it. Has the boat key, the trailer and hitch lock keys, and the cabin key. Its about the most use I could find for it.

It's a trash bag hook.

Some states (WA) require you to have a trash bag in your vehicle...
