Best speaker upgrade
Hey guys I have a 06 crew cab and I am wanting to update myspeakers, I think they sound weak... What have guys done and are you happy, I dont want to change stereo just speakers. Can you go to ford and have the same set up my dads 2011 has with his "premium sound"? it sounds a hell of a lot better thann mine

Yeah u can go to ford and get raped like a frail white boy fresh in the penitentiary lol. I have put Focal speakers in 3 of my last vehicles, 05 f250, 08 f250, and my 08 cts. They are badazz high quality speakers, it's either Lamborghini or Ferrari that puts focals in their cars. If you want to add an amp and keep the stock head unit, buy a nice line converter- Audio control Lci2, don't buy the cheap chitty ones

Save the money and focus on the front speakers, upgrade to 6x9's with brackets. The majority of the sound you hear comes from your front speakers anyway. I've had good experiences with Infinity Kappa series speakers. The 6x9 will give you some bass too without having to buy an amp and install a subwoofer. Definitely the best bang for your buck if you want to keep your factory stereo.

I second the Focals. Get some components and mount the tweeter on the pillar or have it cut into the door by an audio shop.. Coaxial for the rear will suffice. As for subs, I have two DD 2508s and they're pretty awesome. I did have the rear seat moved forward a couple inches for maximum clearance, but you may be able to get them to fit. Honestly though, if you just want clarity without a lot of a bass, a bazooka tube is perfect in my opinion. They're not crazy loud and aren't meant to be, they're just enough to satisfy IMO.

I can't remember exactly what model focal I went with, they were the higher end focals with the tweeter on the speaker. Also- the focals don't need to be amp driven to reach maximum performance like the infinity kappa series(still a good speaker, not downing it) - saving you an amp and the installation of it.

If u upgrade to components up front add a small amp to them they will sound much cleaner and louder .i just installed hat unity in my kick panels and run them of a Rockford t404 .they are by far the best speakers I have had in one if my cars .( I've ran Boston's ,infinity, pioneer ,Rockford )

I got Rockford Punch Speakers in my truck hooked to a 300watt amp... sounds amazing...
Rockford Primes would work just as well on a stock set up. |
