subwoofer custom center console built by myself

well i finally got my 2 new sundown sa8 v2 subs in the mail and finishing up my box as we speak. before i had my powerstroke, i was REALLY into custom audio. heres a pic of my '02 f150 before i sold it all to get my powerstroke haha.


i didnt want to tare up the interior of my new truck so i just went with a smaller custom center console with 2 8s. the box is a 4th order bandpass meaning half the box is sealed, and the other half is ported! here are a couple pics so far. i will post up a video tomorrow when i get everyhting installed!

Lookin good. I love custom audio installs. I have a Single 12 behind the rear bench seat of my Crew Cab. I made the box very fast with limited tools, not my greatest work. I plan on redoing the box this summer, possibly using some fiberglass to make it SEXY. ive never worked with fiberglass, so it hidden behind my seat will hide any flaws while i learn how to work with the stuff. I do plan on replacing my center flip up console/seat with a custom box, when my kids are grown up and im not chauffeuring them and friends around anymore..

haha yeah. well i just finished up the box and got it installed. it looks big in the pictures but its the exact heigth of the console before so i can use it as a arm rest as well.

Little off topic here, but where did ya get those seat covers? I really want to get some nice fitting ones for my truck like that

if i had a dollar for everytime some asked me where i got my covers from hahaha. its cool i got them with the truck. i can get u the brand if ud like. i love them! and as for the box, its getting carpeted black and some red leds inside to light up the subs at night

Nice job on the box.
Those are Wet Okole seat covers. They make very durable neoprene seat covers.
I bought my girl a set for her Honda Fit. Very tight fit, difficult to install.
Fit is perfect.

What wood did you use for the box?

most people use 3/4 mdf for a sub enclosure. i aslo have 2 8's in a ported box as a center comsole. i like the bandpass but dont like how tall the box is. just my .02

Looks good. I'll be building a center console to house my 12" kicker comp along with a hide away door for a surprise while I'm at the border just in case.

I made it that high so i would still have a armrest

ok well it looks really tall in the pic but if it works as a armrest then i like it even more.
