XLT upgrading to Lariat Interior

Hey guys,

As the subject says, I'm upgrading (or planning on upgrading) from my dull and boring XLT interior to the woodgrain panel and elegant Lariat interior. Biggest issue than I'm looking at trying to tackle right now is the Digital Climate Control box versus my manual knobs (heh... knobs...)

Anyway, after doing some searching - the only links I've found, are giving me dead ends.

digital climate control
installing digital a/c
05 XLT upgrade

the only guy who appears to be making waves on the issue is this guy...

02 to 07 climate controls

No clue if Kenny got it working or not (I just PM'ed him) but figured I bring this topic back up, since those threads were fairly old. Has anyone else made any more headway on this? What all do I need to make it work?

Why not go with KR Leather while you're at it?

Chris,
This has been on my list for a while, but "other" things have always gotten in the way. I'm interested to see your progress and maybe you will be just the motivation that I need to get off my duff and get it done...

Well, at some point - we're going to have my truck COMPLETELY torn down... so I'll be in it waist deep already, might as well see what all needs to be done.

Basically, you'd need to go to an auto junkyard and hope to find a Lariat there and gut it.

It requires the digital dash control, the HVAC control module, the interior temp sensors, exterior temp sensors, and all the wiring harnesses.

Difficult, but not impossible.

Well, good thing I've got access to a junkyard!

This is going to be a long process. I'll update this thread when I've got the stuff and do the swap.

The A/C seats would be nice! I'm gonna stick with cloth interior I think though...

Picking this up for $200 tomorrow! I'm also picking up the matching Lariat door panels for $100 ($50 each) as well. The dash comes with every wiring harness. No speedo, no steering wheel, no digital climate control, and no cd player though. I've got an aftermarket headunit in mind, so I'm not worried about that. I just need to track down the other stuff.

Nice!

I can see the plug for the digital climate control sticking out.

The interior temp sensor should be behind the little vent to the right of the steering column, on the lower dash.

You are almost there!

I'm jealous...
