Focal is good stuff.

Aria, but their out of production if I remember right.

The higher end Bostons I liked.

Anyways, the best speaker is the highest quality you can afford

All depends on your ears and what sounds good to you.

I run focal 6.5 seperates with a solid 200w pushing each side. Music to my ears, even without a sub, yet.

I have a two sets of Kenwood plate speakers that have a 5.25" driver and a seperate tweeter that are being powered by a JL 4x100 amp. I'm not a huge fan of Kenwood but like you, cost was a major factor and these guys were on sale. For the price, they sound great.

5.25" driver separate tweeter Alpine type R. Sound killer when run with my Alpine amp.

I found out why I was wanting new speakers. I took my door panel off and realized the speaker was not even screwed down nor was it the right size. So out of curiousity, I took out the other three and they were the same. Not even 4 identical brands.

So for now, I put in some Pioneers. And even with those they the sound is sooo much better.

I really think the previous owner should be kicked in the crotch by a buffalo
