New seating!

Well as some of you know, I've posted in the past about wanting to swap my bucket seats with console for the bucket seats with the flip up jumpseat. No such luck in finding a swap. Well I've been checking the local junk yards with no luck. Well last week I found a jumpseat center section only on ebay, won it for $208, cost me $263.00 total shipped to my front door. Got it yesterday and decided to go ahead and install it. Well I started by removing the center console from my truck, peeled the leather back on my armrests and removed the bolt holding them on, put the jumpseat in and realized I had a problem. There are some pretty good size brackets that are welded on bucket seats for the armrests and they were hitting the jumpseat. Well I hated to but I had no choice, I took out my factory seats (which had to be done anyway for the jumpseat to bolt down under them) pulled the leather covers and the foam off the back of the seats and started cutting and grinding away. Got those all smoothed up and everything reinstalled and love it. It sure is nice to have a extra seat and to let the wife slide over and seat beside her man. I called today to get a price on the leather Katzkin cover for the console because thats what is on my seats and the jumpseat is cloth for now, anyway they said between $300 to $600 for those 2 little bitty pieces of leather. Wow, a year ago when they did my entire truck it was only $1200. Anyway, the top of the jumpseat is grey vinyl (I guess) and the seat and back part are grey cloth, it's not that bad for now but eventually I'll have to break down and spend the money on the leather. And I know I know

I want to do the exact same thing. I was watching a center seat with leather on ebay, but once it hit near 500 bucks, I stopped looking. I don't care enough to spend that kind of money. There's a junkyard a couple hundred miles away from me that shows one on the car-part.com search for a couple hundred bucks. I've been meaning to call them.

What does the hole in the side of the seat look like now that you removed the arm rests? That's the major thing I was worried about. Some pics would be cool.

Well the hole is there, depending on how you have our seat positioned depends on how bad noticeable they are. From the front you can't see them, from the back there a little more noticeable. My wholes are not very big though, maybe the size of a nickel, just big enough for the bolt's to go through that hold the armrests on.
