Smile Gauges and Insight CTS mount locations

Just wanted to share with everyone what I ended up doing with my Fuel Pressure gauge location... I have the Insight CTS and have been monitoring everything I wanted to keep an eye on (EOT, ECT, FICM, EGT, and Boost) except Fuel Pressure. I really like the look of the analog gauges on the CTS, and I don't want to change my display - so I decided that I wanted a mechanical Fuel Pressure gauge and a Mechanical Boost gauge (for better accuracy).

I didn't like any of the options out there (as far as where to put the gauges in relation to the CTS mount I already had) because I didn't want to take my eyes far off the road to check my FP and Boost, so I decided to go a custom route. I went with a triple gauge pod from Autometer (originally had a triple gauge pod from GlowShift that I trimmed down, but that's another story) and "hollowed" out the bottom pod so that I could slide my CTS mount in the place of a bottom gauge. I think the final product came out great! Not only did I manage to keep my CTS where I originally had it, but I managed to get my FP Gauge and Boost Gauge up to where I could easily keep an eye on them and the road at the same time. ALSO! As a bonus, when viewed from outside the truck, it just looks like I have a triple gauge pod - you can no longer see the Insight CTS (unless looking very closely) which is good, because a lot of people thought my CTS was a GPS... and I worried about potential thieves wanting to break into the truck just to nab a GPS.

Also, I want to thank Michael (sargar), a member of the GPDA for his help on installing everything. If it wasn't for his guidance, I would've been lost in installing the gauges and all of the other things we did to the truck this past weekend.

Should have bought just a dual gauge pillar pod and installed it above the cts. It would look better as you wouldn't have the half cut out gauge spot.

There's not a dual gauge pod that has the pods where I want them. I've found a few A-pillar dual gauge pods that have them at the bottom (which won't work with where I've got the CTS mounted) and I've found A-pillar dual gauge pods where the pods are mounted up top, which are too high. I want them centered.

Additionally, like I said in my first post, by just hollowing out the bottom pod from the inside - it hides the CTS from outside the truck, which I believe would help deter wouldbe GPS thievery. And it doesn't look bad from inside the truck. I'm happy with the way it came out, I may change some things later on down the road, but for now this is perfect.

Blake, suction cup or no? I don't think I've seen that before, great idea. What do the 4 analog gauges read?
