Bored Today - Aluminum Diamond Plate Floor Mats
So I was going through my scrap pile today and found enough diamond plate aluminum to make a couple of mats for the truck.
If there is any interest here on the forum I can make more. i am not sure about shipping. anyone interested let me know. Thanks! |

Just noticed your name.
So what else you got out of diamond plate?

Thanks for the compliments.
I used to make all sorts of stuff. I used to work in a metal shop and specialized in aluminum fabrication. Most of my stuff was diamondplate, so the name sort of stuck. I've made car and truck accessories, furniture, tool boxes, skid plates, snowmobile tunnel covers... All sorts of stuff. |

Looks good.
My buddy's shop has rubber sheets that look like diamond plate. I wonder how that would look as floor mats. hmmmm... |

I bet rubber would look great!
What colors does it come in? If you want, I could mail you a paper template that I used to make it easier. |

How much for a set?

I'd have to price materials to know for sure.
I'm thinking $60 plus shipping. I was looking around and Husky liners are more than that. |

Is there a way to have a raised lip on them to be able to hold some excess water and maybe some melted snow in there? That way you won't ruin the carpet. That's a nice idea. Great work.
Oh, and how are you keeping them from sliding around on the carpet as you drive and such? |
