Whining noise when turning

So this is going to sound ridiculous, but I've noticed this obnoxious whining noise when I turn my steering wheel at low speeds. It's inside the cab and it happens when turning left or right. The sound is similar to noise made when a house window isn't closed all the way and the wind goes howling by creating a whistling type sound. It's not very audible and I only notice it at parking lot type speeds. I was thinking a seal on the firewall where the steering shaft exits the cab but I honestly don't know.

Any thoughts peeps???

Whining when turning.

I have had the same problem before, I fixed it by flushing out the powersteering fluid with new fluid. I used Amsoil multivehicle automatic transmission fluid. It will take about three quarts to do a pretty good job flushing it out. The noise should go away as soon as the trapped air gets out of the system.

Mine is making the same sort of sound, however my steering also becomes difficult when at low speeds. Could it still just be air in the system?
