Interior Flexible LED Lighting Project

I thought I would share my LED lighting project that I did yesterday. Seeing some of the nice projects that people do to their trucks on here made me want to do something unique to mine. Since getting the truck, I've really thought the interior lighting lacked some function.

So I purchased a small little push-on/push-off switch and mounted it in the little cubby next to the brake controller. I didn't want to drill a hole in the dash for a toggle switch and I wanted it to be concealed. Here is the switch that I used: SPST PUSHBUTTON, PUSH ON/PUSH OFF | AllElectronics.com

I bought 5 meters of flexible LED lighting (cool white). It has the 3M tape on the back side. I am really impressed with how bright they are. On the driver's side I put a strip of 6 LEDs. In the middle there is a strip of 3 LEDs and on the passenger side another strip of 6 LEDs. I also added a strip of 3 LEDs in the little glove box under the brake controller. Hopefully I won't be stumbling around in the dark anymore when something hits the floor boards. It is probably only a matter of time before I add some more to the back seat for when the kids drop stuff.

Looks great man I like the white, it gives it that clean look. I bet it would be cool on a dimmer too!

Thanks for the feedback. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. I agree, a dimmer would be nice. If I leave them on at night, it puts some glare on the passenger side window and makes it a little more difficult to see anything in that outside mirror. But, I only wanted them so I could find stuff on the floor board, so I only turn them on when needed.
