How much ac comp oil is safe?04 F550

I know there is a specified amount that should be used. The old compressor seal went out and leaked out all the oil that was in the compressor. Well I was just running it through the winter without using the defrost and was going to put a new compressor someday. Well the pulley clutch went out today and locked up so I had a parts runner bring me one from ford and I put on on the side of the road. I did not have anything the check how much oil was in the new compressor but there was some I seen as I tipped it and looked. Would you just change the orfice tube vac it and charge it or give it a little more oil either in the evaporate coil or condenser.

Nevermind. I put another 1.75 OZ in the accumulator and vaced it down and charged it up. Its now blowing 37* air out the vents. I guess if the compressor shells this summer we will know that it did not have enough oil. LOL
