armrest hole

So what is everyone doing with the giant hole that is left behind from the armrests when swapping in a console or building one because I can't figure out how to make it look right.

I don't have a picture I promptly put the armrest back on after seeing the giant hole and metal stud sticking out. I figured with all the people who swapped center consoles there would be someone who has some input on this

You could delete the rods that stick out and get an auto upholsterer to sew in new pieces down the sides of the seats, just like if they were to repair a cut or cracked old piece of leather.

I've sort of wondered the same thing, but the opposite. I've got the 40-20-40 seats in my truck and I would LOVE to have the console on the floor with the arm rests on my seats. But: A) I don't have the seats with the arm rests. B) I don't know if all seats are able to accept arm rests from the factory. C) Don't have the arm rests needed to add on if that was possible. D) Don't have a center console yet.
