whirping sound in cab

I have 2005 6.0 f250 king ranch.. and my problem is a sound from in the cab, sounds just like I spelt it- a whirp sould. I think it's from in the dash, when I have my foot in it and it's running through the gears. It comes and goes, but usually when spools up just on acceleration, not present once in OD and boost is down?? any help thanks..

Is it a "tea-kettle" sound?

I guess you could call it that, If I pull my foot out of it , it goes away. It also may sound 4 to 6 times while running through the gears

Is the truck stock? Have you noticed any coolant loss?

I havent done any mods to this truck- bone stock.78,000 miles.it only does it with a load on the motor, not sitting still. and the sound is for a second only. sometimes once sometimes 5-6 times while its spooled up through the gears. Is there a vacumn switch under the dash??? or something that has vacumn hooked up to it???

My dealer had no idea- dumb ***..

I have another question I will post in the 6.0 engine section. some imput would be great.. thanks

I think it is possibly the same, but that video shows that truck sitting still with no load?? mine is only when cruising. so what is that sound you say? cap or coolant leak?

To the OP, could be a boost leak. Hopefully that's all it is. Look at your degas bottle cap though and see if you see any signs of leaking or dried white crusty residue.

How constant is it? If it's very constant try taking the degas bottle cap loose a couple turns. This way it will keep the coolant system from building pressure. Go for a drive and see if the sound is still there. If it's still there then it's probably a boost issue. If you don't hear the sound then you have bigger issues....

I had a whistle that wasn't quite a tea kettle sound after I put in my EGR Delete. It came from directly in front of me. Turned out to be my Y pipe leaking on the flex pipe part of it. May want to look into that. Any exhaust smell inside?
