Lariat wood trim

I am going to buy a new radio head unit tomorrow and I think it will be about 50 bucks cheaper if I install it myself (That will get me about 2 or 3 gallons of diesel around here! ) Can I just take out the wood trim to gain access to the radio? Or do I need to go the long route and take out the whole dash?

Oh and if anybody has any tips for me I would love to hear them. Never installed a radio before.

I don't know for sure, but I did some reading on this for when I get a PIE and it seems like the whole dash has to come out.

To get to the radio, grab hold of the dash at a place and pull towards you. The whole big piece needs to come off and the unit is held in by 4 screws. Put the trans in 1st and disconnect the headlight harness and power pedals harness if you have them. This will allow for a bit more play room to get to the unit. Good luck and it's super easy.
