Question Seatbelt strangling me!

I know this sounds really weird, but is the seat belt tensioner tied in any way to the accelerator?
If I'm cruising along at a normal speed the seat belt is snug like it should be but I can still lean forward/move around. If I attempt to pass someone and really push on the pedal, the belt gets so tight I can barely breathe! At first I thought it was my kids in the backseat screwing around, but today on my way to work by myself it did it again. And it won't loosen up for like 5 mins.
Is my truck possessed?

Mine only tightens under hard braking. And definitely not that tight and not for that long.

It's mechanical, no link to the peddle.

I don't think I'm pulling it out too far. It only seems to happen on the highway. If I drive around town for an hour its fine, hop on the highway and squeezed to death. My wife thinks its funny. She says its the trucks way of telling me to slow down.

I think it's time to swap drivers and passengers belts.

Or you can go to the Ford Dealer and get a seatbelt extension,it will give you about 6" more room. They are free, just request them. I have them on all of my cars and trucks

I'm not that big a guy that I think I need an extension. I can pull the belt out a lot more than I need to get around me. Just the faster I go, the tighter it squeezes.
