Cloth to Leather?

Is this feasible? I've been thinking about this, a friend of mine told me he had it done to his, he has an 00 SD XLT and sent it to a place to get leather over wraps or something. I'm just wondering is this something that can be done, and how much might it cost.
Thanks.

Yeah Im sure it can be done. Might be pricey and you would want to find a good reputable shop.

Most seats just have seat "covers" -- you should be able to remove the covers and replace them with leather covers.

Check out a place called Welcome to Katzkin and you might find the info you're looking for...

Very easy to do. Catskin is just one of many. Talk to your dealer (Ah I sais it ) but dont go thru them. They should be able to point you to who they use. Should run between 800 to 1500 depending on what all you want done. You can always check out the salvage yards, a buddy of mind did his and only costed him 1100 for just like new and factory.

Yep, my truck is an XLT, came from Ford factory with cloth. When I bought it I told the dealer I wanted leather, they charged me $1,200 and sent me to a guy and thats all he does, he said he does about 7 new vehicles a day (with a few helpers). The leather I got is Katzkin and is supposed to be way better and tougher than factory. I can honestly say that after 11 months and 20,000 miles my seats still look brand new, I also have a 10, 7 and 3 year old that ride in the back seat and it still looks great also.

Hate to hijack a post, but on the same subject, could I change my seats from 2000 Lariat seats to the ones used in the 05-07's?

i believe the name is spelled katzkin, but they custom make leather kits for all vehicles, and they are good quality, but have a reputable shop do the work, it's not easy or fun to do.
