Thumbs down Uncomfortable Seats

I have 1500 miles on my 06 PSD and I have to compalin about one thing. The seats are about as comfortable as the seats in a small economy class passenger plane. I really like this truck but the seats are absolutly terrible. I opted for the 40/20/40 bench seat with the flip down console instead of the buckets.I was wondering if anyone else has the same complaint? And wanted to know if the Harley Davidson seats were any better. A buddy of mine has the same truck with buckets and we took a road trip and his seats aren't any better. Does anyone know if there are some better designed aftermarket seats? Or will these seats get better with some breakin. My last truck dare I say it was a chevy 2500 and I can tell you one thing for sure, the seats were a heck of a lot better. I would like to get some feed back to see if it is just me or if you guys are thinking the same thing just not talking about it.

the harley seats are umcomforatable to me because of the plastic emblem that sits right below your shoulder blades.....IMO the king ranch seats are as comforatable as i have ever sat in in a truck.....problem being if you dont condition the leather in them religiously, they crack and fade.........Marc

Leather Seats

I feel the same way. For a very expensive truck there should be less plastic and more comfortable seats.

As for the cracking leather? I noticed the seats were listed as Leather/vinyl. Is it the vinyl that cracks or the leather.

I also own Chevy LT Touring Van with leather. I have now owned it 5 years and not one crack in the leather. LOL and I have 4 young boys crawling all over the seats. Only maintenance I have done was wipe it down with a damp rag.

I hope the seats in my F250 hold up as well. Based on the durability of the van seat I went with the Leather in the F250.

As far as care, I use a two step system religiously, clean and then condition!

Do you have cracks on your 2001? My Van is a 2001 too.

Also when you bought your truck, did it say Vinyl/Leather? Or just Leather?

Seats

I HAD A 03 WITH THE CLOTH SEATS AND THEY WERE AWESOME, THEY WERE A 40/20/40 SPLIT BUT REALLY NICE. I HAVE A 05 WITH BUCKETS AND I MIGHT NOT GET THEM IN MY NEXT TRUCK,THE beepbeepbeepbeep ARMREST IS TO L0W AND TO FAR BACK TO KEEP YOUR ELBOW ON WHEN DRIVING. I MIGHT ORDER ALL 03 SEATS TO REPLACE WHAT I HAVE.

use Lexol leather conditioner, spray on once every couple of months and wipe off. leather seats also need to be used from time to time (ie, back seats) which help the leather to remain soft and keeps it from shriviling up.
i dont use the cleaner they make, just the conditioner.
i got it at ace hardware but i have seen it at other stores as well

kr seats

I agree with Marc the Kimg Ranch are so confortable just came back from a round trip to Cal and back drove 750 miles a day no conplants with seats, the arm rest are to low so I choose not to use them. I use Saddle Soap on the KR leather to keep them soft. Curtis

any premium leather conditioner will work, dont be afraid to spend a few bucks on some, like many things you get what you pay for.
the lexyol is a good mid grade conditioner (sells for 6-7$). i use it on our couch's, wifes car and my computer chair. (truck does not have leather)
i have seen some conditioners that go for 20-30$, and im sure they are worth it. a container will last a long time, but keep it in a cool place to keep it fresh. (ie, our garage gets to hot in the summer, so i keep it in the house)
