08 bed on 03 f350
Was wondering how the lines would line up on an 03 if an 08 bed was used, basically my bed is rotting out and would take in excess of 3 grand to repair so I would rather upgrade the bed all together. Is his an easy swap?

The lines are the same and it will swap right on

That's good to hear because I was definitely not expecting my bed to be as rotten as it is, I wasn't planning on replacing the bed but seen as how I have to now I might as well upgrade

when i put a 09 bed/taillights/tailgate on my 05 i had to rewire the plug so everything worked properly.
or u could use the 03 bed harness and cut the reverse light pigtails off the newer harness and splice them onto the 03 harness. there is no difference from the newer beds to the older beds besides the tail lights and the tailgate. |

The difference is in the fuel door. The filler neck wont line up b/c of the DEF tank filler neck. The gasser bed fuel door lines up tho. For my reverse light pig tail I used GM truck license plate light pig tails from Autozone for like $2 each. Hope this helps

^^^ LOL the 08's didn't have DEF. Do a little more research lol. Not being a d!ck just giving you a hard time.

Ya my bad lol that wasnt mandatory till '10 right?? Was just saying cause I almost grabbed up a bed that had the space for both filler necks.

They didn't start using DEF until the 6.7 powerstroke. They had a DPF but is completely different than the DEF. It's alright we all make mistakes.

Thats weird they got away with it till '11. I dont know much about the Ford systems but I'm a Cummins mechanic and we started running it in '10 and they said it was mandatory. Not that it matters I'm just trying to learn.

You have to remember that they always start the new MODEL YEARS a year ahead of time so really if you bought a early 2011 it was built in 2010, but the MY is the newer one that had to have the new emissions standards.
