Armrest removal?

My drivers side armrest is beginning to split. My father in law as agreed to repair it if I sent it to him (he's an upholsterer).

How do I remove the armrest on my '05?

I've searches on the issue but can't find ANYTHING (This site's search results NEVER seem to get me anywhere).

Go to the seatshoponline and they make exact pcs to go over the armrest to make it new again. I do not think removal is an easy thing, I had the same issue and bought the cover from these folks and you cannot tell a diffrence.

I have one of their covers as well its on my 2001 F150 it was a great fit and you cant beat their price. Also I do not believe that it is an easy task at all to take the armrest off of the seat. Only thing to remember is if you get a cover from there go to a grocery store and get a produce bag to put on over the old armrest cover before you slide the new one on. It will make your life much easier, trust me I tried it without the bag first and it wasnt going to happen.

Looks good - I'm still curious though; my f-in-law said that he's taken the superduty armrests out before - Some process of pushing in on the armrest while rotating it...??

I wish the price was $50 for BOTH!

ANYONE know how to remove the armrest? I KNOW it can be done, 'cause I've seen pics of it removed!! I need to know ASAP so my wife can take it w/ her when she sees her parents tomorrow!!

Take the cover off and it should be one hex bolt

Yup - In my case, I just had to remove the cover for some repair, but yeah, just one hex bolt was all that was holding it on.

I had the same problem with splitting where my elbow rests and it got to be annoying as heck. I cheaped out and pulled the armrest covers off and switched them to the opposite seat so that way the split is on the bottom of the passengers side armrest where it bothers no one. I figure if I get 5 more years use this way then I can get new ones.
