Dash Prep for paint
I'm doing the f650 dash mod as soon as I get my truck back from the shop.
I want to paint the 650 piece black and a few other sections of my dash. I'm pretty clueless as far as prep, I know I can paint it to look good but not sure about the before hand. Does anyone know how I need to go about prepping for paint?? Will primer and sanding be ok? Or is there something more extensive I need to do?

cleaning and sanding will be your major prep.
I suggest using a adhesion promoter before painting any plastics. If you dont use a promoter the paint can chip or remove itself from the plastic over time. Also, use a paint that is made for plastics. DuPont makes all the products that you need. (i am not affiliated with dupont) Read this, |
