05 XLT, wanting to add some Lariat options

I have access to a parts truck that is an 06 Lariat. Would like to add the steering wheel with controls, 6-disk factory radio with digital climate controls. Is my 05 XLT pre-wired to install this stuff? Would also like to have the info center in the gauge cluster. Does the cluster have to be changed out?

Tried posting this in the electronics forum with no responses....maybe someone here will know.

Thanks

I guess we should have just bought Lariats. lol. You could probably wire in the fog lamps up to the fuse box for power. Then tap into the wire and hook it up to one of your auxilary switches(if you have them) so you can turn them on or off. If no auxilary switches you can get a switch from radio shack that would work.

None of the trucks are prewired for any of that stuff. You will need essentially a whole donor vehicle for wiring harnesses, connectors and other parts. You would probably have to do some custom wiring as well. Good luck if you actually do dive into this project.

To ad the digital hvac you need to pull the dash, change the dash harness and all the ductwork. the digital hvac uses dual blend doors/actuators vs a single unit for manual hvac, and the harness is totally different. As for the radio, the clockspring has the wiring in it, but the pins are empty. It would be easiest to change the entire dash harness and the column.

as for the fog lights, look on the drivers side frame rail right under the abs module-there should be a round plug with a cap on it. That's the fog light plug. Some trucks have it, some don't. My xlt did.
