I added power locks and keyless entry to mine, parts were around 250. That included two fobs and switches on all four doors.

adding an oem setup would be a PITA as the xlt and lariat trucks have a gem (general electronics module). That, and the dash harness doesn't have provisions for the wiring needed (there is no wiring for the power windows or locks) You'd have to change the entire dash harness and ad a gem module (clips to firewall in center of dash) to make the factory parts work. Also, you would need either a lariat or xlt gauge cluster, as the xl cluster won't allow the radio to turn off, or the door ajar message center to work if you use it with the xlt wiring.

I had a guy bring me a BLOWN 05 KR that he wanted the interior and sliding rear window in his 06 XL. That was fun! If you can and have the funds see if you cant get your hands on a fully loaded truck thats totaled or blown

I know this was a long time but what kit did you use? For locks.

I don't remember the name of the kit, but I will look in my truck tomorrow and let you know.

Just took apart a xlt interior to rob the wiring off it ,want to put it in a xl with a 5-speed so have pw & pl and pmirrors the plugs are all there in both trucks just wondering if the gem mod is the same as I only took the wiring to doors and across both sides didnt have to take it all as it unpluged at fuse and panels but man theres a lot of wiring the xl only has half but the provisions to plug in think it will work. Were it goes out to under the hood is totaly diffrent as it uses all the plugs on the ecm but the xl only uses 2?Do I need the complete wiring?
