STEERING WHEEL FIX ?

'05 KR with heavy dark discoloration on the left side interior color (SH) leather section (not the KR leather). Pic below. Believe it or not, the KR leather cleaned up nicely and looks great.

The local interior repair said not to restain or paint because it is a "heavy use area". According to them, It was from the PO's hand oils and not cleaning and conditioning and would not have happened if the PO cared for it properly.

Is there anything I can do now to get it back to original color or at least look better?

If not what is the best way to repair. the rest of the interior is very nice and this is an eye sore for me. Need a solution.

I would rather that than the original look of the wheel !
