RPM gauge is stuck!

The RPM gauge on my 05 F-350 is stuck at 2500 when the truck is off, jumps from there when i start it. My Duramax used to do this, never heard of this happening on a ford. This ever happened to anyone? How do i fix this?

Update: Found out how to do the gauge sweep, but it happened again today. Anybody know of a permanent fix for this? Is it a common issue?

I just do the gauge sweep when it happens, haven't found a permanent fix yet. Been spending all my time fixing all of the other issues on this truck.

my 06 did it only when i had my chip in. never found a permanent fix sorry bud!
