Cleaning question

What products or "concoctions" do you folks use to clean dash, door panels etc.

Howe's lubricating oil gives your dash a really nice look, and has no alcohol or other solvents in it. The downside of armor all and other solvent based cleaners is if they are not uses religiously, the solvents actually dry out the plastic and cause cracking.....something to consider. Howe's is available off of any Mac tool truck for something like 6 bucks a bottle (5 years or more worth) and any oil based dash treatment that has not solvents in it will work as well...

Does the Howe's oil do a good job of cleaning? (I am starting to get dark build up in the textured indentations) The Mac tool truck is a very dangerous place, but I will risk it for the sake of my interior!

any pure oil will clean and shine any interior. the thing is the oil on the rag, especially with some elbow grease...will not only clean built up stuff with some elbow grese...but after that it makes any future cleaning much easier...it isnt a "great cleaner"...because it doesnt have solvents in it, but with some elbow grease, it will clean up what is there and it makes future cleanings easier without risking drying out the plastics like solvent based cleaners do.....so the answer to your questions is the safest producst wont clean as easily...but they will clean it with some effort...and the end result will be much better than your solvent based cleaners that clean better but risk damaging your interior......

Am I the only one that uses a bucket of hot water with a good rag? Man I must be wierd. Once in a while, after cleaning of course, a little coat of 2001 does the trick.

In my old farm truck, that's what I used to do. It would take several fresh buckets to get all the grime off during certain times of the year. Poor thing!

Now you guys are talking about what I know....Detailing

303 Aerospace Protectant is the best product I've ever used for interiors.

Its easy to use, never oily or greasy and wont leave a high-gloss shine or an un-even look.
303 Products Inc.: 303 Aerospace Protectant

303 is THE LEADER in UV screening technology. 303 Aerospace Protectant really is like "SPF 40 Sunscreen ... For Your Stuff." Regular use gives 100% Prevention of UV caused slow-fade with regular use. No other "protectant" beautifies as intensely, protects as powerfully or lasts as long.
