If the light on the switch comes on it is more than likely the element in the seat. If not look at the fuses and switch its self.

Mine also has the light on with no heat. Check this link out, its a bit of reading but basically a lot of guys have found that its the wire between the butt warmer and the thigh warmer being toasted... Unfortunately mine looks good, I'll keep troubleshooting i guess

i had to change my element in the bottom of the seat, not hard if you have the hog ring pliers and the rings.

Montana my drivers seat also has the light on but no heat. Fuses are all good. I actually read that post on ford trucks before and figured that I must have a burnt wire in the seat pad. So one weekend I pulled the seat out of the truck(took maybe 10 minutes) pulled back the leather on the bottom of the seat and I couldnt find any burnt wires. So I put the seat back in and left it alone for awhile. Then the other day I decided to test continuity with a multimeter through the seat pad which would tell me for sure there are no broken wires and sure enough I have continuity. It is winter here now and it really sucks not having the heated seat in the morning.

Ive thought about switching the heating pads in the drivers and passengers seat since the passengers seat works great. But then I would have to listen to the gf complain that her heated seat doesnt work.

Just wondering if you have found a fix for your seat since I would sure like to fix my seat.

on the back of the element there are heat sensors to regulate heat... they might be broken on yours if you can't find any burns, for the price i would just order a new seat element....

i had a small burn on mine and got a new element and everything works good now.

Do you remember what you paid for your seat element? If they are fairly cheap I might see if I can find one at the local ford store. If not it would probably be better to try the one from the pass seat first and if it works in the drivers seat then I will know mine is broken.

I just put my seat back together this evening... defeated. I checked the relay that is under the seat and that is working, the fuses are good, and the light comes on... just no heat.

I've got the same question as Aaron, How much does a heating element cost?

Also, Did the heated seat setup change around 05 because I've read a lot about guys taking the passenger side "module" off and putting it in the Drivers side... well on mine there is only 1 "module" and its just a relay... remove that and neither seat works... just curious if anybody had any info...

Martin45 I hope we're not stealing your thread here... A wiring diagram should have been on that link I posted.
