I think it is tint, because I can sort of see the edges of the film on the corners of the window.

I'm afraid the razor blade will scrape up the tint underneath, which I still want to keep.

Simple green and a scrubbie to get the glue off.

It's not just the glue, there is a shiny, mirror like film on top of the glue. Or is this what you guys call glue?

Thats a layer of the film. It delaminated on you. Heat gun, but if that tint under it isn't factory, it'll probably have to be removed too.

Try soaking it in break cleaner and using a razor blade should come off one two three. And if it's factory tint then the glass itself is smoked as stated before. If there is two layers of "fake" tint on then there is way to save the the layer underneath and will have to have it re-done. Hope it work's out for you.
