show me your CB radio setups

i wanna do a cb radio in my truck, i had one in my 94 f150 and i loved it, i want to make it as clean as possible, no drilling in the ceiling of the cab or anything, maybe even hide it under the seat or something, also i want to do a very clean antenna setup, no whips or magnets, i was thinking one of those hood antennas that mounts opposite of the radio antenna.

anybody have pics of their setups? it doesnt have to be like how i want mine, just show em off!

I'll get some pics up later of it all. I got a RCI 2950DX mounted to a piece of diamond plate that's mounted to the front center seat. I bent the diamond plate myself and it works pretty good keeping the radio within reach to adjust anything on the radio. It rides low and out of sight since the display is pretty bright even using the lowest setting. I bought the diamond plate from TSC as a per cut piece I removed the front two mount bolts that hold the seat frame. I marked the DP for the mount holes then just bent the plate as needed for a good fit. I got room to mount my small invertor and a linear amplifier when funds allow.

I use a Wilson 5000 mag mount since I use a drive through car wash and the antenna comes down easily when needed for the wash. The antenna sits center of the truck almost to the edge I get great receive and transmit out of the whole setup.

I used a fender mount as you described near the radio antenna before but didn't like it after all the effort. I have seen others mount one through the cowl on the drivers side to "match" the radio antenna for a blaanced look.

Yea, I'm curious too where to put mine. In my OBS, I hung it from the headliner but that was getting on my nerves. I just can't find a spot that I like in this one other than on the floor on the passengers side.

The bends can be better if I had used a metal brake. Not too bad for some 2x4s nailed together.

From a distance...

I found this was the better spot to mount the CB, doesn't get in the way of anything and the mic is in arms length when sitting back. It was also really easy keeping the wires hidden this way.

At night... glare is sometimes annoying sometimes but goes away most the time.

Dual 4' Firestiks, they're awesome. Best reception tends to be in the middle of your truck and it's best to have your antennas sticking out 2' above the cab, least that's what I remember reading somewhere...
