ripped arm rest idea

I'm sure this has been posted before but I'm new here so I'll post it anyway. I just bought my first Ford diesel and there was only one thing wrong with the interior, the leather armrest cover was split open on the drivers side. After asking the dealer about a replacement ...$270.00 - no thanks.... I had the idea of swapping the passenger side armrest cover with the driver side. That way when they are both in the "down" position the hole in the driver cover is now on the bottom of the passenger side out of view. Free fix, I'm happy.

If you like camo. I would go to the local store. Buy a yard or two of your favorite camo pattern. Then make your own arm rest covers. If you know how to sew it would not cost you much.

So, did this work or is it just an idea? If you did it, can you post a quick step-by-step?

Thanks,

Adam

It works! Just pull the armrest covers off and switch them. That's what I did in my '04...

Start by pulling the rear of the armrest cover material away from the seat and you will figure it out from there. Just pull it strait off after you have the rear (cloth type faberic) loose. Sorry, no pics. Very simple, just look at it and you will get it.
